About Dental Authority
An independent publication covering the people, practices, businesses, technology, and ideas shaping modern dentistry.
What we are
Dental Authority is a publication about dentistry as a profession and as a business — the decisions practice owners make, the technology that reaches the operatory, the policy that shapes what care costs, and the people doing work worth paying attention to.
It exists because the profession is covered well in two places and badly in the space between them. Clinical journals do rigorous science. Trade press covers product launches. Very little sits in the middle, describing how a practice actually runs and why one runs differently from the one down the street.
We are independently owned and were founded in 2026. Our reporting is free to read. Our profiles and rankings are editorial, and nobody pays to be in them.

Editorial principles
Independent by default
No profile, ranking, or story on this site is paid for. Nobody buys their way into a list, and nobody is removed from one for asking. Where a commercial relationship exists anywhere in our business, it is disclosed on the page it touches.
Reporting before opinion
We start from what a practice actually does — how the schedule is built, what a decision costs, what happens when it is inconvenient. Opinion is labelled as such and is the smaller part of what we publish.
No invented numbers
We do not publish statistics we did not gather or cannot source. When we describe a trend, we say how we know. When we do not know, we say that instead.
Corrections in public
Errors are corrected on the story, dated, and described. We do not quietly edit and move on.
