About

Dr. Priya Desai’s practice is unusual for a surgical specialty in that a meaningful share of its consultations end without a surgical plan. Emerald Periodontics leans hard on non-surgical therapy and re-evaluation, and it publishes its own outcomes to referring dentists twice a year.

The practice is small on purpose — one surgeon, three hygienists, and a caseload capped so that re-evaluation appointments never get squeezed.

What Makes Them Stand Out

  1. Referred patients receive a written explanation of why surgery is or is not being recommended, addressed to the patient rather than the referring dentist.
  2. Desai maintains a peri-implantitis registry shared with two nearby residency programs.
  3. The practice will not place an implant it has not been given the option to maintain.
