About
The question that led Amara Okonjo to open her own practice was administrative rather than clinical: why does orthodontic treatment assume the patient is a child whose parent can leave work?
Peachtree Orthodontic Studio’s answer is structural. Two-thirds of its chair time sits outside conventional office hours. Progress checks are handled remotely by default rather than as an upsell, which cuts a typical case from roughly fourteen in-person visits to five. The practice treats a majority-adult caseload in a specialty that still largely assumes otherwise.
Okonjo is direct about what the model costs. Early-morning and evening staffing is more expensive, and remote monitoring shifts clinical judgment onto photographs. “It is a worse business on paper,” she says. “It is a better one in the chair.”
